The HART Analog Input Gateway provides a clean way to integrate HART Analog instruments with existing controller platforms on a Modbus TCP/IP network. The gateway works well for field applications where it can be installed closer to HART instrument, saving on copper cable and installation costs. The gateway also saves valuable rack space for other in-chassis options. The gateways provide extremely fast channel update times (all channels updating simultaneously in 67 ms) making the HART Analog Input Gateway ideal for applications where high speeds and point-to-point connectivity are required. These gateways are available in 4 and 8 Analog input channel options.

The MNET-RIO modules are the ideal solution for the many applications where Modbus TCP/IP connectivity can be used to integrate a Remote I/O device into a system. The Modbus TCP/IP gateway is a powerful module designed with both Client and Server support, enabling easy connection to other Modbus devices (Modicon processors and many others). In combination with the Remote I/O device support, the module provides a very powerful interface to the many Remote I/O devices which are in use in the industrial marketplace today. Applications for the module are found in most industries, especially the Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Electrical Power and Food Processing.


Internal Database

The ProLinx module contains an internal database that consists of areas for application data, status information, and configuration information.

The internal database is shared between all ports on the module and is used as a conduit to pass information from a device on one network to one or more devices on another network.

Application Data Area

The data area is used to store and retrieve data by the protocol drivers and for data exchange between protocols. The database is used as a source for write commands to remote devices and holds data collected from the remote devices. Commands defined in the configuration file (stored in the configuration data area) control how the data is to be handled in the database.

Status Data Area

This area is used to store error codes, counters, and port status information for each port.

Configuration Data Area

This area contains module configuration information such as port configuration, network information, and command configuration. This configuration file is downloaded to, or uploaded from, this area.

HART Analog Protocol Specification

The HART Analog protocol driver works as a single current loop, point-to-point Master on four channels (all channels set up as channel 0). Each channel is individually configurable.

Protocol Specifications

The auto-poll mode allows the module to automatically collect data from each HART instrument on the channel and store the data in the module's database without the use of user commands. The module automatically generates HART commands 0, 3, 13, 14 and 15.

MNET Protocol Specification

The Modbus TCP/IP protocol driver can interface many different protocols into Schneider Electric Quantum processors as well other solutions supporting the protocol. The MNET driver supports Client and Server connections, and when coupled with the Web option provides a web/ftp interface as well.

Protocol Specifications

The Modbus TCP/IP driver interfaces with a common internal database in the module. This permits the sharing of data between the Modbus TCP/IP and other networks and devices.
