Each in-chassis module is a single-slot communications solution that provides high-speed data transfer across the Schneider Electric Quantum backplane. Both modules are fully supported in the Unity Hot-Standby architecture used in high availability systems.
The PTQ-104C module provides Client (master) capabilities and is used for applications that require data transfers from devices such as relays and power monitoring equipment on the IEC 60870-5-104 communications network. This module allows connections of up to four servers and can transfer up to 4000 words of data. The PTQ-104C module also allows remote connection over Ethernet to transfer configuration files and diagnostic functions.
The PTQ-104S Server module provides the ability to communicate with Quantum processors over an IEC 60870-5-104 communications network which allows data to be passed back and forth from the processor to a SCADA or DCS system. Remote connectivity via Ethernet has also been added to the PTQ-104S, allowing configuration files to transfer and have the ability to perform diagnostic functions remotely.
