Un module basique permet à une entreprise dans la pétrochimie de se moderniser

Nombreuses sont les actions qu’une entreprise peut mettre en place pour se moderniser: remplacer complètement les équipements, ou bien le faire progressivement pour diminuer les risques… C’est ce qu’a fait une entreprise de pétrochimie au Royaume Uni avec son vieux système de bippeur.

L’entreprise a remplaçé son ancien automate PLC-5® de Rockwell Automation® par un ControlLogix®. Le PLC-5 utilisait un vieux système de bippeur qui fonctionnait toujours et a donc pu être conservé grâce aux modules en châssis ProSoft. Un module de communication basique a été utilisé pour servir d’interface avec le bippeur. Des modules Modbus® ont également été installés afin de maintenir la communication sans avoir à mettre à jour tous les équipements du site d’un seul coup.
